DIY Guide to Making Glitter Resin Pendants

How to Make Beautiful Resin Keychains at Home (Step-by-Step Guide)

Making DIY resin keychains is a relaxing and enjoyable project. It’s ideal for making personal accessories or original handmade gifts. Making resin keychains is a great project for everyone. I’ll show you how to easily make your own gemstone-shaped pendants that look store-bought.

What Do You Need to Make Resin Keychains?

First, get these things ready:

- Protective gloves and a work mat

- Bio resin (eco-friendly resin) and resin paints

- A measuring cup and something to mix with

- Silicone molds in gemstone shapes (ideally with a hole already made)

- Optional decorations: glitter, dried flowers, small charms, or metallic foil

Once you have everything ready, crafting will go smoothly and be enjoyable. You can decorate each keychain your own way, the only limit is your imagination!

How to Mix Resin for Keychains

Mix the bio-based resin thoroughly according to the manufacturer's instructions. It is very important to use the correct ratio of resin to hardener. Then divide the resin among separate cups and add your chosen colors. Stir gently to create as few bubbles as possible.

The more slowly and thoroughly you stir, the more beautiful and transparent your resin will be. Plus, mixing colors is very soothing!

How to Pour Resin into Molds

Carefully pour the colored resin into the gemstone-shaped molds. Fill the molds evenly and remove any bubbles with a toothpick or heat gun.

Pour slowly. If you spill a little resin, don't worry, just wipe it up right away.

How Long Does Resin Take to Cure Completely?

Leave the resin to dry for about 24 to 48 hours. Be sure to check the recommended curing time for your resin brand.

Patience pays off. Once the resin has cured, you'll be rewarded with beautiful, glossy pendants.

How to Finish Resin Keychains After Curing

Once the resin has cured completely, carefully remove the keychains from the molds. If you're using molds with a pre-made hole, there's no need to drill anything. Just add a ring, and you're done!

Seeing your finished creation is such a great moment. Just attach the rings, and you can show it off or give this beautiful creation to someone you love.

Resin keychains are wonderful, personal gifts that are always appreciated. Recently, I made colorful keychains like these for my children's teachers, and their excited reactions were a lovely reward for my work.

A handmade gift is always more personal than anything you can buy in a store. It's a great way to show someone you care about them.
